Xiang Liang, Male, Han ethnic group, Weishan County, Shandong Province, Member of Communist Party of China, Professor of Vocal Laboratory of Institute of Musical Studies, Master Supervisor. Member of Aesthetic Education Community of Chinese Society of Education. Member of Musician Association of Gansu Province. Member of Cinema and Television Artist Association of Gansu Province. Vice Chairman of Musician Association of Lanzhou Municipality.

 From 1983 to 1987, he studied music in Department of Music of Northwest Normal University, learnt from Mr. Wang Jinbao, and gained a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Since 1987, he has been working in LZU.

From 1991 to 1992, he studied vocal music and opera in Department of Vocal Music and Opera of Central Conservatory of Music, learnt from Mr. Ma Hongmei.

 Performance experience:

He sung My Motherland, My Sun in the grand event of Sing a Song Together, a CCTV programme, in Lanzhou municipality.

He participated in the large-scale lecture of music appreciation delivered by comrade Li Lanqing, and sang How Could I Forget Him with premier Li Lanqing in Jincheng Theater.

He directed and planned the Grand Evening Party for the 90th Anniversary of Lanzhou University, and acted as the leading singer in the live evening party held in Huanghe Theater. 

Individual Awards:

In 1990, he won the second prize of Provincial “May Day” Vocal Competition among college teachers held by Education Union of Gansu Province.

In 1994, he won the first prize of Bel Canto (amateur) in CCTV Music Competition Gansu Region.

He was awarded the “ Advanced Personal in Art Education” by Education Department of Gansu Province.

He won the 7th “Young Teacher in Talent” of Gansu Province.

He won several prizes awarded by Department of Culture of Gansu Province, such as “Outstanding Vocal Instructor Award” and so forth.

Awards got by his students:

Under his guidance, lots of undergraduates and postgraduates won more than 30 prizes in national competition and regional competitions, such as Gansu region, Shaanxi region, Shanxi region, Northwestern region and so on, including Provincial CCTV Singers’ Competition, Vocal, Instrument and Dance Competition, Golden Bell Award Competition and Dunhuang Award for Chinese Folk Vocal. He once guided LZU Art Troupe to win the group champion for three times and the first, second and third prizes of performance in the "autumn season" of colleges and universities in Gansu province and other college students' art performance competitions. Under his guidance, the major awards students have received include:

Li Shan won the second prize of Bel Canto in the 10th CCTV Singers’ competition in Gansu Division.

Xue Ruizhi won the second prize of Bel Canto in the 2nd Vocal, Instrument and Dance Competition in Gansu Province.

Wang Yi won the third prize of Folk Singing in Gansu Division of the 12th CCTV TV Competition.

Wang Qianyang won the first prize of Folk Singing in Gansu Division of the 9th Golden Bell Award.

Wang Qianyang won the first prize of Dunhuang Award of Chinese Folk Singing in Northwestern China Division.

Xue Ruizhi won the third prize of Bel Canto in Gansu Division of the 6th Golden Bell Award.

Wang Wen won the third prize of Folk Singing in Gansu Division of the 11th CCTV Singers’ competition.

Dong Yonggang won the first prize of the 3rd Singing Competition of China at Youthful in Gansu Division.

Dong Yonggang won the third prize of “Bellini International Singing Competition” in Gansu-Qinghai-Ningxia Division and Candidate Award of “Bellini International Singing Competition” in China Division.

Wang Juan won the first prize of the 2nd Dunhuang Award of Chinese Folk Singing in Northwestern China Division.

Zhou Yi won the first prize of the 3rd Dunhuang Award of Chinese Folk Singing in Northwestern China Division.

Qin Wenhao won the first prize of the 3rd Dunhuang Award of Chinese Folk Singing in Northwestern China Division and the Honorable Mention in national final competition.
